Directorate of Extension Education undertakes the effective dissemination of latest technical information and technologies developed by the scientists to farmers and entrepreneurs. This Directorate disseminates the information developed through the rigorous and scientific research available with Directorate of Research and various divisions of Faculty of Agriculture & Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & A.H. Some of the major activities pursued by this directorate are as under:

The activities of extension education (exclusively primarily being carried out by faculty members appointed under four Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK),

Extension Education Council

1. Each University shall have an Extension Education Council consisting of the following members:
2. Vice-Chancellor, ex-officio Chairman;
3. Agriculture Production Commissioner;
4. Director of Agriculture;
5. Director Horticulture;
6. Director Animal Husbandry;
7. Chief Conservator of Forests;
8. Director Sheep Husbandry;
9. Director Fisheries;
10. All the Directors of the University (Director Extension Education will act as Member Secretary);
11. All Deans of the Faculties;
12. All Heads of the Divisions/ Regional Research Stations/ College;
13. Two eminent persons in the field of Extension Education from outside to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor for any particular meeting in accordance with the requirement of the agenda;
14. Three farmers having specialization in general Agriculture Horticulture Animal Husbandry and other allied branches to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor for their specialized  knowledge and experience;
15. One representative each of under mentioned organization as per request of the Vice-Chancellor;
16. Community Rural Development Department;
17. Co-operative Department;
18. State Agro-Industries Development Corporation;
19. Irrigation Department;
20. Fertilizer Corporation of India;
21. National Seeds Corporation;
22. Any other Agro-Industries or Agro-Service Organization.
23. Project Planning and Monitoring Officer;

Explanation: For purpose of the clauses (iii) to (viii), reference to the members shall be deemed as reference to a member having jurisdiction in the concerned Division.

• The Extension Education Council shall consider and make recommendations in respect of:
• Extension Education Programmes and Projects of the University:
• Co-ordination of Extension Education activities for improvement of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and allied branches and for the development of Rural Communities;
• Development of farmers Education and Training and advisory services, identification and resolution of field problems in transmission of information;
• Methodology of Extension Education;
• Integration of Extension Education with teaching and research in the University and participation of teachers and research workers in Extension Education Programmes;
• Any other matter referred to it by the Vice-Chancellor, Board or any other authority of the University.
