Message to Farmers & Scientist Community

There should be strong linkage between farmers and scientists. There is need to work closely with the farmers to understand their filed-related & basic problems, so that scientists can frame their research priorities. Scientists should come up with the solutions not only for agricultural related but also for the grass root problems of farming community.  Besides, studies students should approach and awaken the farmers for self-reliance, confidence building and solving their problems at their own. Farmers should get the maximum from the scientists, whatever problems they are facing must be told to the scientists so as to find solution for them. Farmers must form self help groups for handling their problems related to production, processing & marketing of their produce and reap the benefit collectively.  University is committed to provide farmers all the technical help and technology available. Further, the students and scientists should act for socio-economic upliftment of rural communities. The need of the hour is to empower the rural women for total development of the society, especially girl students of the university must come forward to encourage the women to shoulder together in building of new India which will be free from hunger, disease,  mal-nutrition, poverty, illiteracy etc. and forge a strong and developed nation near future.  I wish that university should be a harbinger to bring prosperity to farmers of kandi belt through better management of wasteland and rainwater, production of medicinal plants, tropical fruits, vegetables, floriculture and value added products.  Through dairy, poultry, goat and sheep farming they can earn better income and improve their socio-economic condition
