Each research station/sub-station has its lead functions depending on the research requirement of the area under its purview. Postgraduate research also forms an important component of research activity. The research is being funded through coordinated research projects and other schemes of Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), state plan and non plan and adhoc research projects sponsored by various agencies agencies viz. HTMM, DBT, DST,NHB, MES, NMPB, IFS, NOVOD etc.
A close linkage is being maintained between research carried out at the campus level and research stations. Research linkage is also maintained with line departments of the state viz. Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry etc. through Zonal Research and Extension Advisory Council (ZREAC) and Research Council Meetings (RCM) of the University. Interaction amongst the scientists and farmers through state line departments and directly has led to formulation of practical research programmes based on farmers needs and their farming problems.
