Teaching
The Endeavour of teaching has been to develop and strengthen HRD component in Agronomy that is supposed to cater to the needs of the farmers of the region in future

Research
Research activities of the Division are mainly focused to attain self-sufficiency in food grain production with respect to burgeoning population through ecologically sustainable and economically viable cropping/farming system modules. 

Extension
The Division of Agronomy has been actively involved in various Extension Education engagements for transfer of generated technologies to the end users viz. the farmers of Jammu region either directly or through line department personnel.

·         Farming System Centre, has established a profitable Integrated Farming System live model at Chatha for small and marginal farmers – which is earning a profit of 3.02 lakh from one hectare, three and a half times more than the farmers are releasing.
