  • Extension

 Teaching

  1.  UG, MVSc and PhD students enrolled in different courses

 Research

  1. Disposition kinetics and bioavailability of chemotherapeutic agents in the farm animals.
  2. Biochemical, oxidative and immune perturbation induced by pesticides and environmental pollutants in animal models.
  3. Pharmacological screening of plants for their bioactivity by isolating and identifying the active fractions or single molecular entity from active extracts of plants for prospecting them as drugs/bio-enhancers to increase bioavailability of drugs in animals

 Flagship Areas:

  1. Bioprospection of molecules from natural sources for their therapeutic effects: anticancer, anticonvulsant, antioxidant, hypoglycemic, nephroprotective, hepatoprotective, antidiabetic and antihypertensive potential.
  2. In vitro toxicity studies of environmental contaminants and their amelioration with natural antioxidants.
  3. Establishment of cell culture lab for in-vitro mechanistic toxicity studies
  4. Establishment of regional centre for estimation and evaluation of antimicrobial and pesticides residual levels in foods of animal origin.

Extension

  1.  Resource person for the training upgrading the Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS) other associated staff members
  2. Different farmers oriented programme viz. Kishan Mela, MERA GAO MERA GAVRAO, Village visit
  3. Participatory lectures/conduct of external examination/ setting of question papers for various UG and PG programmes
